Veteran's Career Fair

Our DHS recruiters were able to network and share employment opportunities with over 40 veterans at the Veteran's Career fair. We understand the importance of our veteran population and the value they bring to our workforce


L4 Graduation

Chief of Staff Luchelle Stevens congratulated 28 graduates from our DHS L4 Leadership Development program. L4 participants completed action learning projects around employee engagement, equity analysis tool, and employee resource groups.

Spotlight Job: Community Action Programs Grant Manager

The State of MN is seeking a Community Action Programs Grant Manager who coordinates and administers policy and program development for Community Action in the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO). This temporary unclassified position has an anticipated duration of 2 years.

People of Color Career Fair

There were almost 2000 candidates who attended the fair along with 28 other top MN employers! Governor Mark Dayton also paid a visit to talk about the importance of public service and jobs with the state.

MCTC students engaged with several professionals from the healthcare industry to learn about employment and internship opportunities around nursing, healthcare and social work.


Black Women in Government Event

On April 27th, DHS’ Black Women’s Employee Resource Group (BW-ERG) hosted an event called “Black Women in Government.” Speakers for the event included DEED Commissioner Shawntera Hardy, Ramsey County Commissioner Toni Carter, state Rep. Ilhan Omar and state Rep. Rena Moran. They discussed their personal career histories and how they navigated barriers in their careers. More than 200 were in attendance for this event.

Our Veteran’s employee resource group (ERG) is up and running! Veteran employees gather together to create an inclusive work environment by sharing their experiences and knowledge to better understand, address and manage barriers that may exist both in the workplace as well as in the communities we serve.
