Description
Minnesota Senior Health Options (MSHO) and Minnesota Senior Care+ (MSC+) are managed care programs for seniors. Special Needs Basic Care (SNBC) is the managed care program for adults (18 through 64) with disabilities. This video conference will give a general overview and update on these programs. It will also include information on the outcomes of the recent SNBC Request for Proposals (RFP) and the results of a recent study showing positive outcomes for members enrolled in MSHO which is an integrated Medicare and Medicaid program.
Target Audience
Lead Agency Staff, Public Health Nurses, Home and Community Based Service Staff, Outreach Volunteers, Community Service Coordinators, Direct Service Providers, Advocates, Linkage Line Staff, Health Plan Staff and others wanting to learn more about MSHO, MSC+, Dual Demo, ISCP and SNBC.
Learning Objectives
Goal 1: Learn about the managed care programs for seniors and people with disabilities.
Goal 2: Understand the differences between MSHO and MSC+.
Goal 3: Understand the relationship of MSHO and SNBC to Medicare.
Goal 4: Understand the outcomes of the SNBC RFP.
Goal 5: Understand the accomplishments of these programs.
Pre-registration is required.
Each person needs to register.
Registration closes at 5:00 p.m. on the Monday prior to the session. By registering, you understand that the session will be videotaped with the possibility of your visual and audio likeness being recorded for reproduction and distribution.
Handouts and Resources
Presentation handouts and resource materials will be distributed to registered participants via email attachment 1-2 days before the scheduled session. Print and bring your own copies to the session. Copies may not be available at the site. Those individuals interested in receiving handouts only, can make this request via the registration survey.
Cancellation
Videoconferencing sites without any registered participants prior to the registration close date will be cancelled. If you register, but are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation through the web link using your confirmation number prior to the registration close date. This allows others to participate in the training.
Certification
Certificates for continuing education are available for participants at the site. Note: Videoconference training sessions have not been submitted for prior approval to any licensing board.
Accommodations
Individuals with a disability who need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this event may indicate "special request" when registering. Please make requests as early as possible.
DVD Ordering
Beginning July1, 2016 DVDs will not be available to order.

You may view the session via web streaming at the below links. Register for Webstreaming (see above). People participating through this method will be provided a webstreaming certificate of attendance for CEU certification and the handouts.
People can view captions if they web stream. If you wish to view captions at a site, you need to bring a computer to that location, access the internet and use the link provided for the captions to view them on the computer. Links to live captioning are provided in the memo to all participants with the handouts.
The archive webstream link with captioning will be available about 1 week after the videoconference. The archive webstream link with captioning will be sent by email to all participants who register and is available upon request.
Live Link will be available approximately thirty minutes prior to the start time of this event.
Archive Link will be available within 24 hours, but usually the same day if event has ended early enough for technicians to trim and post.
