Vocational
Rehabilitation Services recently distributed detailed information about new
restrictions on the use of subminimum wage as required by the Workforce
Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The information inadvertently left out
one cohort that might also be affected by the restrictions on subminimum wage: Youth with disabilities, through age
24, who have left school and are known to be seeking subminimum wage
employment.
The WIOA Part 397 Youth Final (.DOCX) document contains details of the new Part 397 requirements and
the Vocational Rehabilitation Services implementation plan for that population.
Sincerely,
Kim Peck, Director, Vocational Rehabilitation Services MN Dept. of Employment and Economic Development kim.peck@state.mn.us
