New Codes for Alternative Care – Skilled Nurse /Home Health Service (15 minutes)

SUBJECT:      New Codes for Alternative Care – Skilled Nurse /Home Health Service (15 minutes)

                     

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS) have made a code change to the AC Home Health Service/ Skilled Nursing – 15 minute code.  G0154 is no longer a valid code after 12/31/15. Please use the following instructions:

  • Line items using G0154 with an end date that exceeds 12/31/15 will receive edit 437 Procedure Not Covered for Effective Date. Change the end date to 12/31/15
  • G0154 has been replaced by G0299-RN Skilled Nurse, Home Health (15 minute) and G0300-LPN Skilled Nurse, Home Health (15 minute)  If the service continues beyond 12/31/15 use one of the new codes
  • G0299 and G0300 will require an Ordering NPI number on the line item. 
  • The maximum rate for these codes is $9.14 for 15 minutes which is the current rate for G0154.
