Law Clerk (Job ID: 12301)
This position serves in the legal department as a law clerk and reports to and is supervised by the department's General Counsel. This position is project-based and intended to assist the department's legal team in a variety of legal matters, including primarily, but not limited to: creating substantive training, presentation, and technical guidance materials on a variety of novel legal matters such as school bullying and harassment, pregnancy discrimination, national origin discrimination, etc.; conducting legal research and writing; and performing other tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Student in 2nd or 3rd year at an ABA certified law school.
- Excellent research skills
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to discrimination
- Excellent communication skills including writing, presentation and briefing skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex legal concepts
- Strong organization and project management skills
