 WARN REVISION
PEARSON’S CANDY COMPANY
The State Rapid Response Team (SRRT) received a revision to the Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, 29 U.S.C. § 2101 et seq. (“WARN”), notice from St. Paul Candy Company, d/b/a Pearson’s Candy Company (“Company”). The revision provides updated information regarding the Company’s permanent closure and the resulting layoff of approximately 80 employees at its facility located at:
- 2140 7th St. W, St. Paul, MN 55116
Due to the planned closure of the facility, employee separations are scheduled to begin on September 28, 2026. The Pearson’s Candy Company WARN revision, which supplements the original notice dated July 30, 2026, makes the following three changes:
- The separation dates for five employees have been extended from September 28, 2026, to October 31, 2026, due to the Company’s continued operational needs during the facility wind-down.
- The Company identified one additional employee who was not included in the original WARN notice but will be impacted by the facility closure. The employee’s last day of employment is expected to be November 24, 2026.
- The Company determined that one employee previously scheduled for separation on September 28, 2026, will not be terminated. The decision is based on an ongoing business need for the employee’s specific skills and services. The employee has received a separate notice confirming that the previously announced termination has been rescinded.
Some affected employees are represented by the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union, Local 22. There are no bumping rights associated with these layoffs.
