Launching MN's Small Business Support Network
We’re excited to announce the launch of Minnesota’s Small Business Support Network (SBSN), a statewide initiative designed to strengthen and streamline support for small businesses and entrepreneurs across every region of the state.
Through the Small Business Assistance Partnership grant program, 21 organizations have been awarded a total of $5.1 million to partner with DEED in delivering high-quality guidance and resources to Minnesota’s small business community.
These SBSN partners provide no‑cost business development services, including education, technical assistance, subject‑matter expertise, and connections to local, regional, and statewide resources. Together, they form a powerful network dedicated to helping entrepreneurs start, grow, and scale their businesses.

Revamping Red Wing's Main Street Through DEED Grant
In downtown Red Wing, a three-story building is being transformed into new housing and retail space thanks to DEED's Main Street Economic Revitalization program. Red Wing Downtown Main Street received $750,000 to support strategic redevelopment in its historic corridor, and the impact is already visible.
One of Red Wing's standout projects is Eagle House. Upon completion, the historic renovated building will include retail space and 12 new apartment units. Spaces like this are vital in a community where apartment vacancy rates are less than 1%.
More projects are on the way, including an indoor playground and cafe designed to serve families and children with special needs. DEED is proud to support projects like Eagle House and build vibrant downtowns for Minnesota.
