Business Expansions in Minnesota
- Nidec Power will add a new 120,000-square-foot manufacturing expansion at its North Mankato, Minnesota facility to boost production capacity of its Kato Engineering™ and Leroy‑Somer™ alternators. The project is backed by a capital investment of over $19 million and is expected to generate more than 100 new jobs in the region. It broke ground in November 2025/

Daikin Applied will build a new 71,000 square foot advanced test laboratory at its headquarters in Plymouth, Minnesota to support development of next‑generation HVAC and data center cooling technologies. The project represents a $163 million investment announced on December 9, 2025 and is expected to begin phased operations in 2027 as additional test cells come online.
- Northwestern Mutual will add more than 9,000 square feet to its St. Cloud office to accommodate growing training and operational needs. The project is expected to support the addition of roughly 20 new financial adviser positions along with related support staff. The current facility, built in 2020, had originally been planned to meet the branch’s space needs for 10 years, but rising demand led to earlier expansion.

AirCorps Aviation specializes in the restoration, maintenance and rebuilding of modern, vintage World War II and legacy aircraft, along with aerospace manufacturing and parts sales. With support from DEED’s Job Creation Fund, the company will invest $986,000 to expand and improve its Bemidji facility, enhancing its technical capabilities and supporting the creation of 14 new jobs within the first three years.

Broekema Beltway USA Inc. manufactures advanced sieving conveyor belt systems for agricultural and industrial operations across North and South America. Its Pine City facility serves as a key hub for producing high‑performance belt technology. With support from DEED’s Minnesota Investment Fund and Job Creation Fund, the company will add a new manufacturing line with steel forging, upsetting, robotics and automation. The $5.6 million project will boost production capacity and is expected to create 12 new jobs within the first three years.

Marotta Controls designs, develops and manufactures advanced electronic and electromechanical systems for the aerospace, space and defense sectors. Its Motorfox division in Chaska is a key producer of mission‑critical electric motors used by Marotta and a wide range of external customers. With support from DEED’s Minnesota Investment Fund, the company plans to upgrade its facility to expand capabilities in motor winding, design, analysis and testing, as well as accommodate additional employees. The $4.2 million project will strengthen production capacity and is expected to create 29 new jobs within the next three years.
