Join Us for a Spotlight-Drop In Cafe

Please join us on Tuesday December 9th, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. for our Spotlight Drop-In Cafe. You will hear more details about Vanward Consulting, Debbie Bock from Hands on Tech Inc., and VRS Community Partner - The Prestigious Professional.

These Community Partners will share more about their business, the services they offer and customers they are looking to serve. We will be discussing the schedule for next year, any updates from SSB and a few contract reminders.

Criminal Background Checks

According to contract language these were due to us by August 1. While most of our partners are in compliance there are still a few outstanding. If you have not submitted your background checks for this year please do so immediately.

2026-Forum & Spotlight Meeting Info

The schedule for 2026 SSB Staff & Community Partner Forums and Spotlight Cafes has been set. We are asking every Community Partner to spotlight themselves at one of our meetings. Please sign up for a time to present by completing this form.

Please note our meeting times have been reduced to 30 minutes for both the forums and spotlight meetings. We ask that you register for these meetings in advance.

The Spotlight schedule is set for the second Wednesday of each month starting at noon.

The forums will remain on a quarterly schedule but will be held on the fourth Monday at 8:30 am every three fourth month.

The Minnesota State Services for the Blind Vocational Rehabilitation program receives 78.69 percent of its funding through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. For federal fiscal year 2024, the total amount of grant funds awarded were $10,410,449. The remaining 21.3 percent of the costs ($2,817,568) were funded by Minnesota state appropriations.
