Minnesota Paid Leave is a new state government program that will offer payments and job protections so people can take time off work to care for themselves or their loved ones during some of life’s most important moments.
Paid Leave set to take applications early for new parents!
As we prepare for January 1, 2026, Paid Leave is now accepting applications from employees at select partner organizations to test our application. We're starting with a small group of employers so we can test our systems and deliver the best possible experience when we open to the rest of the state.
After this phase, we anticipate opening applications early for all parents who welcomed a child in 2025. Opening applications early will give workers and employers time to plan ahead and prepare for the start of Paid Leave in January.
