DEED Visits Entrepreneurial Communities Around the State
DEED's Office of Small Business and Innovation recently hosted seven regional gatherings that convened entrepreneurial support organizations, business owners, and community leaders to explore the current landscape of Minnesota’s innovation and small business ecosystem. These meetings were facilitated in partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension.
These discussions allowed leaders to gain insights into the current state of Minnesota's innovation ecosystem, and presented opportunities for further growth.
Key themes and opportunities from these meetings included:
-
Enhanced Collaboration and Ecosystem Coordination: DEED will foster stronger partnerships and prioritize a more cohesive and efficient support network.
-
Providing a range of support and a critical path for entrepreneurs: The ecosystem should strive to provide flexible support, recognizing that each entrepreneur's journey from idea to growing business is unique.
-
Evaluation and continuous improvement of entrepreneurial support. There are opportunities to improve the methods and approaches used to assess the impact of entrepreneurial support efforts and organizations.
