Forum April 8th

The main topic for this session with be the unveiling of our new fillable invoice template, we will spotlight 3 community partners who are up for monitoring in April, and include a discussion with Laura Cheney and other partners about using WF1 for submission of invoices

Please Submit a Copy of Insurance

We are asking all of our Community Partners to resubmit a copy of proof of insurance. State Services for the Blind should be listed as a certificate holder per contract language. We are asking all of our community partners to submit a current copy of their insurance documents.

We apologize if this is an inconvenience. We are revising our filing system and need a scanned copy sent to SSBContracts.DEED@state.mn.us . Please do so by May 1st.

Background Checks

In reviewing our records, we have discovered our Community Partners are divided into two groups of deadlines for submitting the annually required BCA checks. Some will be receiving a notice in April that we are in need of a new BCA approval. If you do not receive a notice, look for one in the fall. We decided to just group these requests together for ease of tracking. We appreciate your cooperation with submission.

State Services for the Blind provides tools and training for employment, living independently, and accessing print. We assist Minnesotans who are blind, DeafBlind, experiencing vision loss, or have difficulty accessing the printed word.

The Minnesota State Services for the Blind Vocational Rehabilitation program receives 78.69 percent of its funding through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. For federal fiscal year 2024, the total amount of grant funds awarded were $10,410,449. The remaining 21.3 percent of the costs ($2,817,568) were funded by Minnesota state appropriations.
