Launch MN's Startup Showcase
The Launch Minnesota Startup Showcase offers local high-tech companies the opportunity to pitch their business to investors from across the country. This invite-only event for startups and investors creates new connections and opportunities for investment. Up to 10 companies will be selected by Launch MN and its community partners to pitch at this event.
The event is Wednesday, November 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Launch Minnesota will begin accepting applications UNTIL OCTOBER 14 at 11:59 p.m. If you are interested in participating, please email your pitch deck to launchminnesota@state.mn.us during the application window.
Paid Leave Webinars
Minnesota Paid Leave is committed to engaging Minnesotans as the program continues to develop. To date, Minnesota Paid Leave has held more than 80 education sessions virtually and across the state, and regularly joins evens to hear feedback and share information. Upcoming Small Business Assistance Calls
DEED’s Office of Small Business and Innovation hosts virtual meetings on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss different opportunities for small business owners. Here are the topics for the remainder of the year.

November – The MN Chamber of Commerce will join to discuss their Energy Smart program. Energy Smart offers free energy consultations for commercial properties, whether leased or owned.

December – The MN Chamber of Commerce will join to discuss their Waste Wise program. Waste reduction, recycling and organics benefits both businesses and their bottom line. Learn how you can reduce waste, lower your waste cost and decrease supply expenses.
Women Innovators Conference - Nov. 12

University of Minnesota IP Clinic
UMN’s IP Clinic provides community members with an opportunity to obtain legal assistance in matters involving intellectual property, such as copyrightable works, trademarks, patents and confidentiality obligations. Legal assistance is provided by second- and third-year law students under the supervision of a licensed attorney. There is no charge to participate in the IP clinic, which is looking for companies for its Spring 2025 semester.

Ascend Rural Summit
AscendRural, in partnership with ScaleHealth, is excited to announce its first Innovation Challenge. The Innovation Challenge aims to identify and pilot technology solutions that support the well-being of rural communities. This Challenge is specifically focused on finding innovative approaches to promote resilience and emotional health among rural youth in central Minnesota.
Challenge Prompt: Develop a digital platform that promotes long-lasting resilience and emotional health among youth in rural areas.
