Lost your job? Need work now?

If you have been laid off (or notified that a layoff is coming) through no fault of your own, we offer services at no cost that focus on preparing you to find a suitable new job.

Our Dislocated Worker Program services are designed to help workers who have been laid off get back to work as quickly as possible through services like:

  • Career planning and counseling
  • Counselor-approved training
  • Job search and placement services
  • Limited funds for support services

Greenheck Group - Assembler and Fabricator Positions

  • Greenheck Group (GH) located in Minneapolis has immediate openings for

  • GH manufacturers commercial HVAC systems for large employers.

  • GH is looking for candidates familiar with working in a warehouse environment (one year experience) and HVAC experience (preferred, not required). GH provides manufacturing 101 training.

  • Wage for entry-level openings is $20.75/hr. For 2nd and 3rd shifts, there is an addition $1.50/hr. GH also has referral bonuses of $500 for referring new talent.

Minnesota’s Cold Weather Rule (CWR) is a state law that protects residential utility customers from having electric or natural gas service shut off between October 1 and April 30. You are eligible for CWR protection even if you rent – the electricity or gas must be the primary heat source and the utility account must be in your name.

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Development Board. Our programs:

Career Pathways Trainings offer job seekers free or low-cost, accelerated trainings that prepare them for careers in high demand job sectors including Healthcare, IT, Public Safety and the Trades.

Minneapolis Works - Assistance finding a job for low-income, Minneapolis residents ages 18 and older.

WIOA Adult - Employment and training services to eligible adults 18 and over who are looking to gain skills and employment in healthcare, IT, manufacturing, construction or administrative services.

Minneapolis Youth Works - Assistance with high school completion, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.

Dislocated Worker Program - Comprehensive services for those who have lost their job through no fault of their own for adult ages 18 and older.
