Get prepared for a successful job search by participating in these free, live online classes. Registration is required and limited to 500 people per session.
November 17 – Job Club Online: Facing Unemployment at 50 and Older
This workshop focuses on practical, proven advice for workers over 50 looking to resume an established career or try something brand new! We’ll discuss how resumes and interviewing techniques have changed recently, mistakes that can trip up older workers, and how recent global events have actually made mature workers highly valuable. This is the sixth week in a 6-part series that covers the essentials of the Creative Job Search (CJS) workshop. You can take all six or register for a single workshop at any point in the series.

November 18 – Online Workshop: New Leaf
This workshop is designed specifically for job seekers who must address a criminal record in their job search process and are having a difficult time obtaining employment due to barriers and/or records. This workshop combines the Creative Job Search course with special strategies for addressing and overcoming barriers to employment, including how, when and why to disclose your record, addressing concerns from employers, answering tough interview questions, Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), federal bonding and “Ban the Box.”
You must have a criminal record (felony, misdemeanor, or gross misdemeanor) to participate in the New Leaf Online Workshop.

November 18 – Online Workshop: Interview Skills
Through this workshop, we will help you approach your next interview with increased confidence, learn how to answer challenging interview questions, gain frameworks to structure your thoughts and answers to common questions, and develop tools and techniques to both prepare for and follow-up after the interview.

November 19 – Online Orientation: CareerForce
Learn about services that are offered at CareerForce locations and how to access them. From resume reviews to getting connected to Dislocated Worker service providers, rehabilitation counselors and veterans employment representatives, this half-hour introduction to the CareerForce system will give you the information you need to get the help you want. There will be time to ask questions and all participants will receive contact information for their local CareerForce locations.

Connecting to Job Club and Online Classes
These online workshops are presented through a WebEx webinar. Participation requires internet access and the ability to stream video and audio.
