VRS_Virtual Technology and Transition Training Event
Minnesota Rehabilitation Association (MRA) is partnering with VRS on another virtual training event this year to continue our efforts with improving transition services to MN youth. The training is called Technology & Transition and it will take place over 4 different sessions. The presenter is Dr. Alfred W. Daviso III, Ph.D, who is a Professor at the University of Akron, the LeBron James Foundation School of Education. During the sessions, Dr. Alfred Daviso will introduce attendees to different apps for facilitating successful transition in the areas of employment, education and independent living for transition students. Session dates, times and topics are below:
- October 27th from 12pm-2pm CST
- Introduction to Apps Using SAMR and TPACK Models
- November 24th from 12pm-2pm CST
- Apps for Employment, Job Seeking, and Interview Skills
- December 15th from 12pm-2pm CST
- Apps for Time Management & Organizational Skills for College and Employment
- January 26th from 12pm-2pm CST
- Apps to Promote Self-Determination and Independent Living
To further support our MN VRS staff and partners in increasing their knowledge and enhancing services to youth, VRS will cover the cost of the event. So we invite all MN VRS staff, VRS contracted community partners and educators to attend these virtual trainings. If you can’t attend all of them, each session will be recorded for future viewing up to 6 months following the event.
