Four Minnesota Businesses to Receive State Money for Job Creation

Four Minnesota businesses will receive thousands of dollars in state funding once they make good on their hiring goals and capital investment promises. DEED on Tuesday said it will distribute more than $400,000 as part of its Job Creation Fund.

DEED Awards nearly $3 million for Infrastructure Investments

DEED is awarding three projects $2.86 million for infrastructure development from the Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) program. The TEDI program was created to finance infrastructure projects that create economic development opportunities, jobs, and improve statewide transportation systems.

Four Minnesota Businesses Receive Job Creation Funding

DEED is supporting business expansions in four Minnesota cities with $412,515 from the Job Creation Fund, which provides financial incentives to new and expanding businesses that meet certain job creation and capital investment targets.

The Monthly Economic Statistical Snapshot is out now. Each Month DEED Economists look at how the state compares to the rest of the nation in things like unemployment, business survival and other factors. Highlights from the snapshot below:

  • Minnesota’s labor force participation rate was 70.3 percent, ranking third highest nationwide. The U.S. rate was 63.3 percent.
  • Minnesota’s 5-year business survival rate (2014-2019) was 54.8 percent, ranking fourth-highest nationwide. The national average was 50.9 percent for the same period.
