VRS_December Updates

Greetings VRS Community Partners,

I have a few updates to share with you today.

Open Position at DEED-VRS: Metro Regional Director

Vocational Rehabilitation Services is searching for its next Metro Regional Director. This position was previously held by Dee Torgerson, who was named VRS Director in October.

The position is to serve as a regional manager for Vocational Rehabilitation Services for the Metro region of the State of Minnesota. The manager will supervise a team of Rehabilitation Counseling Supervisors charged with planning, directing, controlling and analyzing VR service delivery in metro geographical areas; build effective and strategic partnerships with businesses and community rehabilitation partners, counties, schools and Independent Living Centers; champion, communicate and implement strategic initiatives; provide the VRS Leadership Team with assessments and perspectives of regional immediate and long-term VR needs (e.g., staffing, resources, service needs, training); develop and maintain accountability for the regional NPS budget, and other duties as assigned.

Pre-ETS Training for P/T Contractors

In October, DEED-VRS held two trainings for P/T contractors on providing Pre-Employment Transition Services. That training is now posted and can be viewed at the link below. The PowerPoint slides are also available for your review.
