Minnesota Unemployment Rate Drops for Second Straight Month

Minnesota’s unemployment rate fell slightly for the second consecutive month in September, going from 3.3 percent to 3.2 percent, according to figures from DEED. The rate also again bested the national unemployment rate of 3.5 percent. 

DEED awards MSU-Mankato’s SBDC with grant to help small businesses

DEED recently awarded the Small Business Development Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato with a two-year grant worth $274,000. The grant fund will be used to provide assistance and facilitation in the growth and success of entrepreneurs and small businesses in the Mankato area.

Reville grant will pay for asbestos abatement and sidewalk renovation

Renville receives grant to redevelop old gas station property

DEED has given the city of Renville $49,435 in grant funds to help with redevelopment of a 1.3-acre site along U.S. Highway 212. The funds from the Redevelopment Grant and Demolition Loan Program will be used for asbestos abatement, demolition and sidewalk replacement.
