Bridge to Customer Service (Free)
Gain the skills and certification needed to start your career as a call center customer service representative or an entry level administrative customer service representative. Starting pay ranges from $14-$16 an hour.

PPL Public Sector Office Administration Training
Improve your clerical skills and build the professionalism necessary to enter into public sector administrative positions.
 
Class runs June 19 – July 28. To get started, attend a Learning Center Information Session, 9 AM every Monday at the PPL Learning Center (1925 Chicago Ave. in Minneapolis).

Hennepin County Office Specialist Training
This 6-week training will focus on further developing administrative skills for a position as a Hennepin County Office Specialist. A two-week job shadow at Hennepin County will provide hands-on experience in the Office Specialist role. Interested candidates should have 1.5 years of previous office experience.
 
Class runs August 21 - September 29, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 3 PM. The screening process for this program begins June 5. To begin the application process, attend a 9 AM Monday morning informational session at the PPL Learning Center (1925 Chicago Ave. in Minneapolis).

Free Food Safety Training
This free program helps participants (17 years +) gain experience in a licensed kitchen, Serve Safe certification, quality job references, and help finding a job. Sessions are held monthly at Pillsbury United Communities’ Oak Park Center.

HIRED Manufacturing (CNC and Precision Metal Stamping)
Starts in September but taking applications now. These are evening classes. Students will get a chance to earn college credit as well as earn a metalworking certification. City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Development Board. To learn more about specific programs click on the following links:
