Second Chance Saturday
UROC partners up with local attorneys who provide free legal advice about expunging criminal records and related issues. This work helps people with criminal record reduce the stigma and burden of having a criminal record, such as difficulty finding housing or employment.

Northern Bedrock Historic Preservation Corps
Americorps crew member positions available for summer and fall (either a 26 or a 13 week AmeriCorps service term). Crew members receive a biweekly living stipend and an education award upon successful completion of the term. Must be 18-25 years old.

Tree Trust Now Accepting Applications
The Tree Trust application for youth is now available. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2017.  Applicants must live in suburban Hennepin County and be 14-21 years old.  Detailed eligibility criteria and application procedures can be found on the program website.

Free Food Safety Training
This free program helps participants (17 years +) gain experience in a licensed kitchen, ServeSafe certification, quality job references, and help finding a job. Sessions are held monthly at Pillsbury United Communities’ Oak Park Center.

Pathways to Healthcare Careers (HIRED)
March 23– May 11, Hennepin Technical College – Brooklyn Park

Free Clerical Healthcare Internship Program (PPL)
April 24-May 26, M-F, 8 AM - 4 PM
24 hours of Medical Terminology and Electronic Health Records instruction, along with Basic Life Support certification. A 2-week internship is also provided at one of PPL’s partner hospitals (such as North Memorial) or nursing homes. Program graduates will receive a monetary award.
Attend an information session at 1925 Chicago Ave S., Minneapolis  Arrive early to get a parking permit from PPL’s front desk.

Advanced Manufacturing Core (HIRED)
Safety Awareness, Manufacturing Processes & Production, Quality Practices, Maintenance Awareness courses on-line.

Earn an industry-recognized credential, the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician.

Precision Metal Forming (HIRED)
This course prepares the student to learn the fundamentals of metal forming and develop technical skills and knowledge on how to operate mechanical power presses. College level training with an opportunity for a paid scholarship.

    Assistance with high school completion, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.
  • Dislocated Worker Program
    Comprehensive services for those who have lost their job through no fault of their own for adult ages 18 and older.
