5 Signs Your Job Search Efforts Lack Heart
It's discouraging to see the success of others when you are working hard to find your next opportunity. Whether you're unemployed or trying to find a job while you're employed the length of time it takes to find a new job can be daunting. There are probably signs you have lost motivation and here are some ways you are giving in:

  1. You're afraid to fail so you apply to easier jobs.
  2. When criticism from past jobs persists in your current job search.
  3. When encouragement is conditional and you're about to burst.
  4. You find satisfaction in the possibilities.
  5. Fear or the lack of fear determines your actions.

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training

City of Minneapolis Employment and Training administers a variety of employment and training programs under the direction of the Mayor, City Council, and Minneapolis Workforce Council. To learn more about specific programs click on the following links:

  • Minneapolis Works 
    Assistance finding a job for low-income, Minneapolis residents ages 18 and older.
  • Minneapolis Youth Works
    Assistance with high school completion, work preparation or employment goals for Minneapolis Youth ages 14-21.
  • Dislocated Worker Program
    Comprehensive services for those who have lost their job through no fault of their own for adult ages 18 and older.
  • Train to Career
    Job-skills training in a select occupation in demand for low-income, Minneapolis residents.

Supported by the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), Asian Media Access is planning for a 13-week "Let's Get IT" Training for 30 individuals that will prepare them for job fields in communication, design, and developer, along with possible certifications in Multimedia, Graphics Design, and Web Development Career Pathways.
