How to Spin Negatives Into Positives During Your Interview: The Do's and Don'ts
Chances are you may run into a few tricky interview questions when someone asks you about potentially negative things regarding your past experiences or personality traits. A common interview question is "What is your greatest weakness?" How you approach unfavorable traits, such as a personality flaw, shows a lot about your character and attitude. 

Learn how to turn negatives into positives to win the day and earn that coveted position.

Make It Count for Adult Learners
The ‘Make it Count Program for Adult Learners’ is created for students ages 24 and up who will be attending college for the first time in the fall of 2016. The program covers the cost of tuition and fees at Saint Paul College for up to 60 credits, completed in no more than three years, through state and federal grants and private scholarships.

Students must register for at least six credits per semester to be eligible.

Apply by July 1, 2016.

Minnesota Pays GED Test Costs
Eligible Minnesotans who do not graduate from high school are no longer required to pay for GED tests to receive the equivalent of a diploma. The GED tests usually cost $120 but through the end of June 2016, GED testing is available at no cost to eligible Minnesotans. Governor Dayton has asked the Legislature to approve another $120,000 to keep the program funded next year.

Green Construction Training
HIRED’s four week Green Construction Trades Course covers a variety of topics designed to give students in-demand green construction skills that will make them excellent candidates for career pathways in the building trades. Students will earn First aid, AED, CPR, OSHA 10 certification, and the NCCER green construction certificate.

Eligibility:

  • At least 18 years old (diploma and GED not needed)
  • Underemployed or unemployed

The training costs $2150 but full scholarships are available for eligible individuals. Training will consist of 16 sessions (classes starting May 9th, May 24th and June 20th), Monday-Wednesday, 8:30am- 4pm.
