STEP Grant Program

The MTO has funds available through the SBA for companies to participate in targeted trade missions. Eligible companies can apply for up to $7,500 in financial assistance.

The State Trade And Export Promotion (STEP)  Program is administered by the MTO to provide financial and technical assistance to qualifying Minnesota small businesses with an active interest in exporting products or services to foreign markets. Participants can be first-time exporters or companies who currently export but are interested in expanding to new international markets.

ANEAS Briefing: Join us for this briefing about the ANEAS Trade Show to see if ANEAS is for you. Veteran Latin America Sales Manager Krista Ramirez, of Aeration Industries International’s sales team, will share prior experience from ANEAS, and talk about the firm’s plans to attend this year. The Trade Office will brief on the availability of SBA STEP grant funds, and how eligible firms can get reimbursed for up to 50% of travel and participation costs.

Expand Your Business to Arab Countries with Free Trade Agreements: Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco and Oman have established Free Trade Agreements with the U.S., generating more export opportunities by reducing barriers to market entry and creating a more stable, transparent trade environment for U.S. companies. In collaboration with our office, the Middle East & North Africa Consultants Association will bring Embassy officials and regional experts together in Minneapolis at this breakfast event.

Opportunities in Tatarstan, Russia: Mr. Robert Galiullin, the Trade Representative of the Tatarstan Republic, Russian Federation in the United States, will visit Minnesota October 8-10, 2015. Tatarstan, Russia, is a growing region, undergoing development in a variety of sectors, and is open to U.S. businesses. Ford, 3M, and Cummins are already present in the region. If you would like to meet with Mr. Galiullin to discuss business opportunities in Tatarstan, Russia, he will be available for individual appointments on October 8th, 9th and 10th, with some limitations.

Russia's Water and Wastewater Treatment Sector: Always in the news, Russia can be a challenging market to understand.  What do you need to know about Russia in order to capture the potentially very rewarding opportunities? The Water Roundtable session addresses this question, and is part of a series of events and workshops offered by the American-Russian Chamber of Commerce Of Minnesota (ARCCoM) and its steering committee. A review of US Department of Commerce insights on the Russian water market will compliment presentations by local experts on doing business in Russia.

Arab Health Dubai 2016: Now in its 41st year, it is a “must do” global medical device and health care tradeshow and concurrent medical conference. They expect 73,000 visitors, mainly from the Middle East, North and East Africa and Near East Asia, and 4000 exhibitors from 67 countries. The medical conference includes 18 CME-accredited sub-conferences with 500 international presenters. The MTO is organizing a Minnesota Section in the U.S. Pavilion. STEP matching funds are available to qualifying companies and participation paying up to $7500 of related marketing/travel costs.
