The applications for the Minnesota Food Shelf Program Grant are now being accepted! Applications are due no later than 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The Minnesota Food Shelf Program (MFSP), as described in the MFSP state statute 256E.34, is a non-competitive grant, and potential grantees must apply annually online. The Food Group (TFG), formerly Hunger Solutions Minnesota, distributes funds on behalf of the Department of Children, Youth and Families, Office of Economic Opportunity (DCYF-OEO).
The total distribution funding for the FY 2025-2026 MFSP Grant is $9.3 million, with a minimum award of $10,000 and maximum award of $175,000 per approved applicant.
Here's what you need to know about MFSP this year:
- Agencies with 501(c)(3) status currently participating in TEFAP and Tribal Nations are eligible to apply.
- Service statistics from all distribution sites of your agency or Tribal Nation will be combined to calculate your MFSP funding amount.
- One application per 501c3 agency or Tribal Nation will be accepted.
- One grant disbursement will be made per agency or Tribal Nation.
- Potential grantees must apply online.
- The Food Group will disburse funds when they are available in partnership with DCYF-OEO.
