Every year the USDA updates the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG) and MN TEFAP Providers are required to update their TEFAP Eligibility documents by July 1st to reflect this change.
These updates impact who is eligible to receive TEFAP foods in Minnesota. Households at or below 300% of FPG are eligible to receive food at Minnesota TEFAP Distribution Sites (food shelves, Tribal food programs, on-site meal programs and shelters).
A complete listing of TEFAP Eligibility Forms in 16 languages can be found on our new TEFAP Forms and Resources webpage from the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO).
ACTION REQUIRED and NEXT STEPS:
TEFAP Distribution Sites are required to begin using the TEFAP Eligibility forms with the 2025 FPG by July 1, 2025.
Important to note:
- These new forms should replace any old versions being used at your site.
- These forms will be used with new participants on their first visit and with existing participants in accordance with your standard 12-month renewal timeline.
For questions, please contact your regional food bank.
We're excited to announce the launch of the new TEFAP webpage. While a few kinks are still being worked out, this new site contains important and updated forms and resources, including the new 2025 Eligibility Forms with 2025 Federal Poverty Guidelines that are required by July 1.
