The Minnesota Department of
Commerce announced on February 6, 2015 that a new company, Conserval
Engineering, Inc., has met the qualifications to have its solar thermal
transpired air collectors known as SolarWall certified
as Made in Minnesota. Conserval joins
the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL) and Energy Conservation and
Products as solar manufacturers in Minnesota who currently make solar thermal
collectors that qualify for the Made in Minnesota Solar Thermal Rebate Program. As a result, home and business owners who
install SolarWall collectors will be eligible for a 25% rebate on installation
costs, with a $25,000 program cap for business/agriculture and $2,500 for homeowners.
The solar thermal rebate of the Made
in Minnesota Solar Incentive Program is available to customers of
investor-owned electric utilities who install solar thermal systems using solar
collectors certified as manufactured in Minnesota. Applications will be
accepted annually between January 1-February 28 each year through 2023 and will
be selected by lottery.
