Construction update

CenterPoint Energy is committed to providing safe and reliable natural gas service that makes life's moments possible. This effort includes maintenance and modernization of our infrastructure.

There are currently multiple crews working in the East Harriet and King Field Neighborhoods – moving inside meters outside and connecting new or existing service lines to the gas main in the street.

One crew is on Colfax Avenue South in the 4000-block area, with plans to move offsite by next Wednesday. Another crew is on Colfax Avenue South and will be moving to 36 Street East in the coming weeks. An additional crew can be found on Harriet Avenue South between 40 Street East and 36 Street East. Lastly, an additional crew is on East 39 Street at the intersection of Van Nest Avenue.

We anticipate several more weeks of service line work in East Harriet. Following the completion of all meter moves and service line connections, restoration crews will be in the area to replace temporary restoration done last fall and restore areas affected by work happening now.
