What will CenterPoint Energy do?

From Tuesday, September 17 to Tuesday, October 1, a crew from Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, anticipates installing a natural gas main under the east sidewalk of Aldrich Avenue S. between 38th Street W. and 41st Street W. In addition, they will move inside meters outside by appointment and replace and/or reconnect service lines to the new main.

During this time, the crew will close parking and sidewalks along the following streets: the east side of Aldrich Avenue S. from 38th Street W. to 41st Street W.; the north side of 41st Street W. from Bryant Avenue S. to Aldrich Avenue S.; and the north side of 39th Street W. from Bryant Avenue S. to Lyndale Avenue S.

After the service line and meter work, the gas crew will backfill the excavated areas with dirt or gravel. This will be temporary before the restoration crew comes from Q3 Contracting, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor. On boulevards and lawns, they will refill the areas with black dirt, grass seed, and netting made of wood fiber that degrades over about four months. Prior to mowing the restored area, remove any loose staples that secured the netting.
