What is the crews’ progress?

Natural gas main work

A crew from Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, has installed natural gas mains along the following streets: Laurel Avenue W., Upton Avenue S., Thomas Avenue S., Sheridan Avenue S., Russell Avenue S., and Queen Avenue S. The “no parking” signs have been removed from all these streets except Queen Avenue S.

This week, the crew will connect the new main on Queen Avenue S. to the existing intersecting mains at Laurel Avenue W. and Chestnut Avenue W. On Wednesday, September 4, the intersection of Queen Avenue S. and Laurel Avenue W. will be closed. The east side of Queen Avenue S. will have “no parking” signs.

This week, the crew will begin installing mains under the following sidewalks: the north sidewalk of Mount View Avenue, starting at Sheridan Avenue S. and working toward Penn Avenue; the east sidewalk of Russell Avenue S. between Mount View Avenue and Wayzata Boulevard; and the east sidewalk of Queen Avenue S. between Mount View Avenue and Wayzata Boulevard. “No parking” signs will be posted on the side where the crews are working.
