What is the crews’ progress?

A crew from Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, has been installing natural gas mains in Bryn Mawr for CenterPoint’s natural gas infrastructure project. Below are the details for late August and early September; the schedule is subject to change:

  • The crew has installed natural gas mains on Thomas Avenue S. between Chestnut Avenue W. and Laurel Avenue W. and Laurel Avenue W. between Upton Avenue S. and Sheridan Avenue S.
  • This week, the crew will work on the natural gas main at the intersection of Laurel Avenue W. and Queen Avenue S. Flaggers may be on site to help direct traffic. “No parking” signs will be posted on the south side of Laurel Avenue W. between Queen Avenue S. and Cedar Lake Road.
  • By Friday, August 30, the crew anticipates installing mains under the east sidewalks of Russell Avenue S. and Queen Avenue S. between Chestnut Avenue S. and Laurel Avenue W. Parking will be restricted on the east sides of these roads. Early this week, the crew anticipates finishing the main installation under the east sidewalk of Sheridan Avenue S. between Chestnut Avenue W. and Laurel Avenue W. They plan to remove the “no parking” signs early this week.
  • On Tuesday, September 3, the crew will begin installing the main under the north sidewalk of Mount View Avenue, starting at Russell Avenue S. and moving toward Penn Avenue S. by the end of the week.
