What is CenterPoint Energy doing?

This summer 2024, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors have been upgrading CenterPoint Energy’s natural gas infrastructure in Bloomington. While a few neighborhoods have had natural gas line replacements, a few more are in progress. Below is an update for the project happening east of Highway 35W: 

A crew from Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, replaced the natural gas mains along the streets highlighted in the map below. 

Another Michels Corporation crew has been working on the service lines and meters in the areas where the mains were replaced. This week, the plans to begin connecting the service lines to the new main and moving inside meters outside on Aldrich Avenue S. and Bryant Avenue S. between W. 86th Street and W. 90th Street. They anticipate that the service line and meter work on these roads will take approximately two weeks.

During this time, parking will be restricted on both sides of Aldrich Avenue S. and Bryant Avenue S. in this area. Hard surface and soft surface restoration will be completed in the following weeks. Thank you for your patience while we complete these updates.
