What is the crews’ progress?
Natural gas main work
A crew from Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, will begin on Wednesday, July 31 or Monday, August 5 on Upton Avenue N. between Wayzata Boulevard and Chestnut Avenue, closing parking on both sides of the road and closing the east sidewalk. In approximately seven weeks, they anticipate putting the new natural gas main under the east sidewalks of the following streets:
- Chestnut Avenue W. from Washburn Avenue S. to Upton Avenue S.
- Upton Avenue S. from Chestnut Avenue W. to Wayzata Boulevard
- Thomas Avenue S. from Chestnut Avenue W. to Cedar Lake Road S.
- Sheridan Avenue S. from Chestnut Avenue W. to Laurel Avenue W.
- Russell Avenue S. from Chestnut Avenue W. to Laurel Avenue W.
- Queen Avenue S. from Chestnut Avenue W. to Laurel Avenue W.
The crews will determine whether these two streets will have the new main installation during or after these seven weeks:
- Washburn Avenue N. from Glenwood Avenue (County Road 40) to the cul-de-sac south of Chestnut Avenue
- Vincent Avenue N. from Glenwood Avenue (County Road 40) to the cul-de-sac south of Chestnut Avenue
During the main installations on these streets, parking will be closed on both sides of the road. The east sidewalk will be closed while the west sidewalk will be open. Traffic will remain open.
