What is the crew’s progress?

Natural gas main

By the end of this week, a crew from Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, will have installed a natural gas main under the even-numbered sidewalk of Humboldt Avenue N. from Dowling Avenue N. to 42nd Avenue N.

In the weeks of Monday, July 15 and Monday, July 22, the crew plans to install natural gas mains under the following sidewalks in the following order:

• The even-numbered sidewalk of Humboldt Avenue N. from 42nd Avenue N. to 44th Avenue N.
• The odd-numbered sidewalk of Humboldt Avenue N. from 43rd Avenue N. to 44th Avenue N.
• The even-numbered sidewalk of Humboldt Avenue N. from 44th Avenue N. to 43rd Avenue N.
• The south sidewalk of 43rd Avenue N. from Humboldt Avenue N. to Girard Avenue N.
• The even-numbered sidewalk of Girard Avenue N. from 43rd Avenue N. to 42nd Avenue N.
• The odd-numbered sidewalk of Girard Avenue N. from 42nd Avenue N. to 43rd Avenue N.
• The even-numbered sidewalk of Girard Avenue N. from 43rd Avenue N. to 44th Avenue N.

Service line and meter work

Another Michels Corporation crew will begin their work on Monday, July 15, starting at Girard Avenue N. working north from Dowling Avenue N. They will move inside meters outside and replace and/or reconnect natural gas service lines to the new mains. For more information on what to expect during this work, please visit our web page here.

Restoration

After the natural gas work is done, the crews will put temporary backfill such as gravel or dirt. There may be a few weeks before Q3 Contracting will come to restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. We appreciate your patience!
