Closures 5.30.24

East end of project

  • Lake Street between Colfax Avenue and Stevens Avenue: The crews are continuing to move inside meters outside and replace some service lines. They are currently working between Colfax Avenue S. and Stevens Avenue S. and expect to keep working here into mid-June. Until Friday, June 7, they will continue working on the south side of Lake Street.
  • During this time, a lane will be closed on the south side of Lake Street. Traffic will remain open in each direction, with one lane heading west and another heading east. From Friday, June 7 into mid-June, the lane shift will change to the north side of Lake Street.

Access to businesses

Although some sidewalk panels will be removed while the replacements are happening, businesses will remain open to pedestrians. Pedestrians not accessing businesses on the side where work is happening are encouraged to walk on the opposite sidewalk. When the replacements are done but the permanent restoration hasn’t happened yet, the crews will put backfill such as gravel on the sidewalk excavations.
