Beginning of 2019 Construction Season

In 2018, CenterPoint Energy worked hard to improve and modernize natural gas pipelines throughout several neighborhoods in its service territory. We would like to thank everyone for their patience while this construction activity was taking place.

For this new construction year, the new piping segments and upgrades will continue to be installed with the most current construction standards and requirements, ensuring safety and reliability of the pipelines for many years to come.

As CenterPoint Energy’s crews begin the 2019 construction season, please continue to visit our Construction Zone website as 2019 projects have been added to the website. Any changes on these projects will be added closer to the projects’ start dates. Below are some of the highlighted projects:

Restoration in 2019

In the last quarter of the 2018 construction season, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Q3 Contracting, temporarily restored the areas affected by CenterPoint Energy’s construction due to freezing weather that was unconducive for permanent restoration. (Please see the Winter Restoration section on our Restoration Practices and Updates web page for details and photographs on what materials and conditions are required for winter restoration.)

Between April and early July 2019, crews from Q3 Contracting are returning to these projects to permanently restore the areas affected by CenterPoint Energy’s construction that ended in 2018.

Any hindrances to the completion of permanent restoration may include weather or construction work by other construction contractors. Some cities where CenterPoint Energy worked in 2018 will complete their own restoration.

Thank you from all of us at CenterPoint Energy for your patience. We look forward to another successful construction season this year!

After time, the grass grows through the biodegradable netting, creating a sustainable lawn.
