 Aug. 11 Primary Election: Voting Info and Precinct 2 Detour
The State Primary Election is Tuesday, Aug. 11. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Before heading out to vote, confirm your polling location and review the information below, including an important traffic detour for voters in Precinct 2.
Precinct 2 Voters: Westwood Community Church
Precinct 2 voters cast their ballots at Westwood Community Church, 3121 Westwood Drive, Chanhassen, MN 55317.
This election season, Highway 41 between Highway 5 and 82nd Street and Highway 13 (Bavaria Road) between Highway 5 and Highway 18 (Lyman Boulevard) are closed for construction as part of the Highway 5 Improvements project.
Voters with Westwood Church as their voting location should use the posted detour:
Drive west on Highway 5
Turn right on Highway 13 (Rolling Acres Road)
Turn right onto Highway 7
Turn right onto Highway 41
Turn right onto Tanadoona Drive
Route detour signs will be posted.

Voting Before Election Day
Chanhassen residents can vote before Election Day through Aug. 10. In-person early voting is available at the Carver County Government Center - Administration Building (600 East 4th Street, Chaska, MN 55318) during designated voting hours.
Eligible voters may also request an absentee ballot and vote by mail. Learn more here.

Reminder about campaign signs
Minnesota law allows political signs during the election season, which runs from June 26 through Nov. 13 for the 2026 election cycle.
Campaign signs should be placed on private property with the property owner’s permission. Signs may not be placed in the public right-of-way, within sight triangles or within 100 feet of a polling location. The city may remove signs that violate these rules.
