Hello Chanhassen Residents,
Thank you for the quick response to my earlier email. Many of you have asked for the specific Minnesota State Senate bill number for the proposed legislation restricting local authority over housing development standards and approval processes.
The action being considered is a "delete-everything amendment" to SF 2229. (A "delete-everything amendment" means lawmakers are scrapping the entire original bill and replacing it with completely new text as a way to overhaul a bill while keeping the same bill number.)
While the proposed amendment is narrower in scope than the original bill, the language still significantly restricts local decision-making.
