Hello Chanhassen Residents,
What a beautiful week to enjoy the outdoors!
City Hall Tour and Listening Session
On April 20, starting at 4:30 p.m., Chanhassen City Hall will be open for tours and an opportunity to review the Civic Campus plans. As we embark on the Civic Campus project, understanding the current state of our facilities helps to gain perspective on the plans moving forward. Then at 7:00 p.m., the City Council will hold a Listening Session in the Council Chambers. You are invited to share your feedback and ask questions of staff regarding the Civic Campus plans. The City Council will not be making any decisions, rather, we simply want to hear directly from our residents on this significant project. Learn more about the project and leave feedback on our project page.
Pothole Patching
Both our crews and contractors have been busy patching potholes. According to our Public Works Director, we have used three times the amount of materials in comparison to years past. We continue to address the most urgent of needs as we work our way around the city. If there is an area of concern, please submit your request at SeeClickFix.
Park & Recreation Report
At our City Council meeting on Monday, we received the annual report from the Parks & Recreation Department. In addition to the update that we had over 2,000 (wow!) people at our Easter Egg Candy Hunt last Saturday, we saw the incredible work being done with programming, participation, and maintenance. Read the report online. Thank you Parks & Recreation team!
Wildlife Management
We also discussed wildlife management planning on Monday evening. The City Council is in agreement to look at the next action steps to take to develop a wildlife management plan. Staff will be working with the multiple government agencies who have regulatory authority and standards to understand timing and next steps. An important part of developing a plan is public input and we will keep you informed when there are opportunities to provide feedback.
2023 Road Projects
The city received very favorable bids on the 2023 Pavement Rehabilitation Project and Mill & Overlay Project, which will allow us to do all of the neighborhood areas. A neighborhood open house is scheduled for May 2 and the assessment hearing/award of the contract is scheduled for May 8 at the City Council meeting. Residents impacted by these projects should have received notification of these events via U.S. Mail and can learn more on the project pages.
Thank you, Chanhassen. Please let me know if you have any questions eryan@chanhassenmn.gov.
Warmest Regards,
Elise Ryan
