MetroNet
With continued interest in the buildout for internet service, please see the most updated information:
- MetroNet is still very engaged in Carver County, including through the county’s “Connect Up Carver” project.
- Metro-net has provided a construction schedule that begins construction in Chanhassen the week of July 28, 2023.
- The first phases of construction are in the Lake Susan Hills area and along Highway 5 from Powers to the eastern city border.
- The construction completion date is targeted as July 2025.
- The city is not contracting with MetroNet and has little leverage over their construction plans.
- Potential customers are encouraged to sign up on MetroNet’s website to demonstrate interest and receive additional info.
- The city does not restrict or limit the number of ISP providers building out their infrastructure/operations in our city.
Next week, look for an update on both the Civic Campus as well as the Recreational Facility. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please email me at eryan@chanhassenmn.gov.
Warmest Regards,
Elise Ryan Mayor of Chanhassen
