Brooklyn Park, MN — July 10, 2026 — At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Friday July 10th, Brooklyn Park Police responded to a report of a collision involving a truck and a child on a scooter in the intersection of Candlewood Drive and Brunswick Ave N.
Upon arrival, officers found that an 8-year-old boy riding an electric scooter had been struck by a pickup truck pulling a trailer. The driver immediately called 911 and remained on scene. Officers noted no indications of impairment, and the driver is cooperating with the investigation.
The Minnesota State Patrol was requested to the scene to conduct an accident reconstruction, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Tragically, the 8-year-old did not survive his injuries. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
