Small Airplane Crash in Brooklyn Park

Brooklyn Park Police and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a report of a small airplane crash near Crystal Airport.

Responding units located a small aircraft that had crashed and caught fire in Southbrook Park near 62nd Ave N and Florida Ave N. Brooklyn Park Fire crews extinguished the fire. No individuals on the ground were injured, and no property on the ground was damaged as a result of the crash.

Unfortunately, the occupants of the airplane did not survive.

Brooklyn Park officials are in contact with the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. The departments are working together to conduct a complete and thorough investigation of the incident.
