Here is the schedule of work the contractor plans to do within the next few weeks:
Greenhaven Neighborhood
Next couple of weeks
-
Aquila Ave:
- Roadwork will be completed on Monday or Tuesday next week.
-
Concrete Curb & Gutter (entire Greenhaven Neighborhood)
- The contractor will start their set up work on Monday 8/18. This involves setting up metal pins and a stringline for the curb machine to run on.
- Concrete curb will be installed on Tuesday 8/19.
- Concrete driveways and aprons will be installed on Wednesday 8/20 to Friday 8/22.
- Parking: The contractor is working on a plan for parking. They will hand deliver this plan, so please check your door for this important information. The parking lot access on Boone Avenue near the fire tower will be closed off.
- You will be out of your driveway for approximately 7 days due to the curing process of the concrete. Driving over it before will damage it.
- You will be able to park in the street near your house after work hours.
- If you need to use recreational vehicles, like campers or boats, during this time, please plan accordingly to park them elsewhere. Do not park any recreational vehicles, trailers, or boats within the construction project.
- Once the concrete is cured after 7 days, the contractor will build a gravel ramp for you to drive back into your driveway.
Birch Grove Neighborhood
Temporary Watermain System
The temporary watermain system is needed to provide you water when the contractor is replacing the watermain in the street. The temp system will be placed in the boulevard and connected to the outside spigot at your house to supply water. The contractor will stop by each house to meet with you before they switch your water supply to the temporary system. They may need to enter your house to turn off valves at the water meter. Please have your outside spigot valves turned on in the house for summer use.
Garbage and Recycling Cans
If the contractor is working near your property on garbage or recycling day, we have requested that the contractor move your cans to an area where the haulers can have access to them. After the cans are emptied the contractor will bring your cans back to your property. Please, if you’re able to, put a piece of duct tape on your cans with your address to ensure you get your can back. If you’re not able to do this, the contractor will. Also, please have your cans out to the curbside the evening prior.
Irrigation Systems
If you have an irrigation system and haven’t contacted us yet, please do so as soon as possible.
Getting your driveway redone?
- If you plan to have your driveway completely redone, please contact us by as soon as possible to provide us with the name of your contractor along with a quote. We always recommend getting at least 3 quotes from different contractors.
- We will reimburse your contractor directly for the area that was disturbed by construction at the project cost only.
- The project’s asphalt and concrete contractors will not give quotes for the private side of driveways.
Colorful Locate Flags and Wooden Survey Stakes
You will see these items in your yard during construction. The flags are marking locations of utilities such as gas, electric, TV, internet, and phone buried underground, so the contractor knows not to hit and damage those. The wooden stakes are survey informational points for the contractor to build the watermain, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and road. Please do not disturb any of these items or we’ll need to have them resurveyed which will cost money and delay the project. Thank you in advance!
Emergency contact after hours
If you have an emergency related to the project after work hours or on weekends, please call 911. The Police Department will notify the 24 hour on-call project superintendent from the contractor.
Construction Working Hours
Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (the contractor will try to not work on Saturdays)
Please note, dates are subject to change with weather and unforeseen construction obstacles. We will try to update you as soon as we know about them.
