What is the BPDC?
The BPDC was created in the early 1990s to provide innovative, low-interest loan programs to help small businesses grow and thrive. The board plays an important role in overseeing and guiding multiple loan programs, including:
- Real Estate and Equipment Loan
- Commercial Code Correction Loan
- Microbusiness Loan

As a board member, you will help direct financial resources to small businesses and entrepreneurs in Brooklyn Park. It is an opportunity to support local economic development.
What are the board details?
Term Length: 2 years Meeting Schedule: Quarterly on the third Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Time Commitment: ~12 hours per year Number of Members: 7 directors and 1 city staff liaison
- 1 Economic Development Authority Representative (3-year term)
- 1 City Council Representative (3-year term)
- 1 Resident Representative (2-year term)
- 2 Business Representatives (2-year term)
- 2 Financial Institution Representatives (2-year term)
