 Nominate for Tater Daze Parade Grand Marshal
Nominations for the 2025 Tater Daze Parade Grand Marshal are open!
Nominees for the Grand Marshal should embody the vision statement of the city and have contributed to one or more of the Brooklyn Park 2025 goals. Only one nominee will be chosen for the title of Grand Marshal.
Nominees must: - Be available on May 31 from 9-11 a.m. - Be a resident of Brooklyn Park - Embody the vision statement of the city and have contributed to one or more of the Brooklyn Park 2025 goals (see nomination form for more details)
Nominations are due and the form will close on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
 Celebrate Brooklyn Park T-Shirt Design Contest
Do you think you could create a great design that would be featured on our official Celebrate Brooklyn Park T-shirts?
Start designing today and submit your artwork by March 12 for a chance to be featured on our 2025 Celebrate Brooklyn Park T-shirts.
To qualify for the contest, T-Shirt designs must encompass the vision statement of the city and one of the Brooklyn Park 2025 goals. The Brooklyn Park Vision Statement and 2025 Goals can be viewed online at www.brooklynpark.org/brooklyn-park-2025/
The Recreation and Parks Events Team oversees selecting the T-Shirt design.
The winning design will be printed on the back of Celebrate Brooklyn Park branded T-Shirts and handed out at Celebrate Brooklyn Park events starting with the Parade and Gathering on May 31.
The finalist for this contest will receive a free T-Shirt!
Deadline for submitting a T-Shirt design is Wednesday, March 12.

Get ready for the 2025 City of Brooklyn Park Job Fair Open House on March 7 and 8! This year, we’re doubling the excitement by hosting job fairs at both the Community Activity Center and the Zanewood Recreation Center.

 Perfect Your Swing at the Dome
Step up to the plate! That’s right—our three batting/pitching cages are available for rent at the Brooklyn Park Sports Dome! Whether you're looking for extra reps or bringing in your whole team, you can rent one, two, or all three cages—depending on availability.
These cages are open for baseball and softball, youth to adult. Must be 18 to reserve.
Rates: $25 per half hour | $40 per hour Reserve your time: Call 763-493-8333 (payment due at booking) Equipment: Pitching mounds & L-screens provided; bring your own bats and balls.

 Farm Summer Camp Registration Opens January 20
We will open up our summer camp registration on Monday, January 20. Historic Eidem Farm will offer two different camps this summer. Critter Camp and Nature Preschool Camp are open to children ages 3-5.

Critter Camp Ages 3-5 Fun for preschoolers down on the farm! Children will rotate through daily activity stations with their group including song circle, craft, storytime, games, snack, and farm exploration. Farm activities include meeting and feeding the animals, churning butter, doing laundry 1900 style, hayrides and more! Craft activities differ each day. Critter campers will be divided into small groups with low staff-to-child ratios.
Let us know when you register if there is another child you would like your child to in a group with. All participants MUST be completely toilet trained and 3 years old by June 12, 2025, to participate. Both sessions include the same curriculum.

Nature Preschool Camp Ages 3-5 Explore nature, play outside, be a Curious George scientist, get messy like Picasso, sing your heart out! Start your mornings off right with some time at camp! Summer is meant for playing so join other preschoolers while socializing in a nurturing outdoor environment. We will use a hands-on inquiry-based learning to experience the world around us. Daily activities include circle time, creative arts, story time, games, snack, and nature exploration. Bring a snack and water bottle each day. All participants MUST be completely toilet trained and 3 years old by July 1, 2025, to participate.

The City of Brooklyn Park is hiring a team of Adaptive Skating Specialists to support with the expansion of program offerings to include adaptive ice skating lessons! ⛸️
Anticipated Hourly Hiring Wage: $13.91 - $25.24 depending on experience and qualifications.
The Adaptive Skating Specialist is responsible for supporting within adaptive ice skating lessons designed for children and adults with developmental disabilities. This position may also support inclusion services within basic level ice skating lessons and work 1:1 with skaters with disability-related needs.
Staff must have the ability to confidently move around on ice skates (skates can be rented free of charge). Upon hire, staff will need to become a Learn to Skate Member, take a short exam, and become Safe Sport Certified.
*Costs will be covered by the City of Brooklyn Park.

 Fee Assistance
Did you know we have fee assistance and scholarships available?
The City of Brooklyn Park provides fee assistance for all residents of Brooklyn Park to participate in programs.
Assistance will reduce fees up to 75% based on income and household size. Additional fee reduction may be available for families experiencing homelessness or for children that are considered wards of the state.
The maximum scholarship amount is $400 per person, per year.
Additional fee assistance is available for Summer Camp and Summer Fusion.
Scholarships are not available for facility use fees, athletic leagues, private lessons, or trips.

Puzzling Competition
Registration is open! Check out the details below. Walk-ins will be accepted if we have room.
Jigsaw Puzzle Competition: 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Contest begins at 3 p.m. $40 per team, maximum of four participants Teams of up to four people will compete to complete a 500-piece puzzle in the shortest time possible. The team that completes the puzzle the fastest will be awarded first place, followed by second and third place.
First, second, and third place will receive a prize. Prizes courtesy of Leder Games and Asmodee. Please note that teams cannot have more than four people. The registration is per team, and only one person per team needs to register.
Family Jigsaw Puzzle Race: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. *The pieces of this puzzle are large on one end and small on the other – so beginners and experts can work together Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Race begins at 6 p.m. $10 per family, maximum of six participants
Not ready for competition? Join our family-fun puzzle race! Teams of up to six people will race to complete a 350-piece family jigsaw puzzle (mixed small, medium, and large pieces) in the shortest time possible. The team that completes the puzzle the fastest will be awarded first place, followed by second and third place. All teams will get to take home the puzzle after the competition.
Please note that teams cannot have more than six people. **Registration is reserved for multi-generational families. Other groups are asked to register for the Jigsaw Puzzle Competition at 3 p.m.

 Luminary Snowshoe Walk
Explore the farm at night on snowshoes under the full moon! Walk the back loop and warm up by the campfire with hot chocolate and s’mores. This is a pre-registration event, limited quantities of snowshoes are provided. Feel free to bring your own if you have them.

 Anti-Violence Game Night
Save the Date for our 2025 Anti-Violence Game Night at the Zanewood Recreation Center on March 21. This is a FREE event, open to the whole Brooklyn Park Community.
We will have all types of games, raffles prizes, and food!
What type of games you ask? Card Games: Uno, Poker, Hearts, etc. Board Games: Sorry, Monopoly, Connect 4, etc. Video Games: Mario Kart, Smash Bros, etc.

 Maple Syruping at the Farm
Have you ever wondered where the syrup you put on your pancakes comes from? Join Farm staff to experience the process of collecting sap from maple trees and turning it into syrup. After, warm up around a bonfire and enjoy a treat with maple syrup!
*Maple Syrup equipment is provided, everyone attending this program must register and pay. Students must be accompanied by a registered adult. $8/participant
