Understanding the Truth in Taxation Process
Each fall, residents receive a Truth in Taxation notice detailing the proposed property taxes for the upcoming year. The notice includes information on how much of your tax bill goes to the city, county, school district, and other taxing authorities.
Truth in Taxation Public Meeting
Come voice opinions and ask questions about the proposed budget and tax levy. This is your opportunity to provide feedback directly to City officials.

After considering public input, the City Council will finalize the budget and tax levy at the December 9, 2024 City Council meeting. The final levy amount determines your property taxes for the next year.
Your participation in the Truth in Taxation process is crucial. It ensures that your voice is heard and helps City leaders make informed decisions about budgeting and taxation.
