Essay submissions due December 13, 2024!

The Mayor for a Day contest is back!
We’re excited to announce the return of the League of Minnesota Cities' Mayor for a Day Essay Contest, a fun opportunity for young students to share their ideas about what they would do as mayor of their community!
Students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades are invited to participate by answering the prompt, “What would you do if you were mayor for a day?” Winners will receive a $100 prize and be recognized in Minnesota Cities magazine.
How to Submit an Essay
The deadline for submissions is December 13, 2024, and essays can be submitted in one of three ways:

Online: Enter essays directly into our online form.

Mail: Print and send essays to 145 University Ave. W, Saint Paul, MN 55103.

Email: Submit essays as a PDF attachment to mayorforaday@lmc.org.
Winners will be notified in early January. We encourage all students to take part and look forward to seeing the unique ideas and vision our young residents have for the future of our community!
