The workshop is led by Salveen Siddique, who has been doing henna professionally since she was 13. She currently teaches at community centers in South Minneapolis and Saint Paul and hosts private sessions. Class is open to anyone aged 16 and up.

Class Options: Snow Plow Sam: Ages 3-5, learn to get comfortable being on ice in skates.
Hockey Learn to Skate: Ages 3-12, hockey curriculum that focuses on the fundamentals of hockey skating.
Skating School: Ages 6+, focused on ice skating basics for beginners.
Advanced Skating School: Ages 6+, focused on strengthening edges, forward and backward crossovers, backward stroking, and quick stops.
Junior Club Group: Ages 6+, focused on learning free skate techniques such as basic jumps and spins
Senior Club Group: Ages 6+, focused on more advanced jumps and spins.
Theater on Ice: Ages 6+, a form of figure skating that combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theatre and dance

 Teen Afrobeats Dance Workshop
Afrocontibo invites you to join the Teens Afrobeats Workshop, happening each Wednesday from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Community Activity Center until November 20. This program is for teens in grades 9-12 and no dance experience is necessary. You can sign up for the class HERE.
Cost is $56 for the whole session or if you drop-in, it is $10 per class.

 Little Farmers: Nature Preschool Drop-off
Come enjoy nature at Eidem Farm! Seasonal offerings range from barnyard exploration, gardening, insects, amphibians to snowshoeing and animal tracking. Your little one will spend an active morning using all 4 senses as they explore Eidem Farm. Daily activities will be dependent on season and weather that day. We will have class in rain or snow, rainsuits and boots are on site!
When: First Monday of every month | Oct. 7-March 3, 9-11:30 a.m. Where: Historic Eidem Farm - 4345 101st Ave N Cost: $18 resident / $22 nonresident per session

 Music Together Program at Northwoods Park
The Music Together full program will run on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. during the ten-week fall session that begins on Sept 24.

It is time to register for fall youth sports in Brooklyn Park! We have a ton of options for you to get in to the action. We have gymnastics, soccer, basketball, and more. If you know a child ages 3-14 we have a sport for you.

 Indoor Pickleball Returns on October 14
We are excited to announce that indoor pickleball returns to the Community Activity Center on October 14!
The cost is $3 per person OR $11 per family, per visit - pay upon arrival at the Community Center front desk OR cash box in the gym. OR use your healthcare reimbursement - must be pre-registered to utilize healthcare reimbursement plans. All players are encouraged to pre-register to be included in email communications about schedule updates/changes.

Ready for an epic afterschool adventure?
Zanewood's Fall Fusion program for K-5th graders kicks off on September 9! Fusion kids will dive into thrilling activities like sports, painting, jewelry making, gardening, and dance—plus, they'll gain valuable skills in youth leadership and healthy living!
And guess what? Delicious meals are served during the program! Don’t miss out on this chance for kids to have a blast and grow in every way. Fusion takes place Monday-Thursday from 4-6 p.m. and runs September 9-December 12.

 Let's Read Together
The Zanewood Recreation Center is teaming up with the Hennepin County Library and the Legacy Family Center to host a Let's Read Together Literacy Program. It starts on August 24 and runs until December 28. Participants will meet two Saturday's per month from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

This program has two age ranges: youth readers; ages 10-17 and listeners; ages 5-9. Each participant will have a 1:1 reading buddy.
