Looking for Volunteers for Culturally Responsive Tutoring!
If you haven’t heard already, BBAY will be hosting some great programming starting this year across multiple schools and one of those programs is Culturally Responsive Tutoring! In a nutshell, the Culturally Responsive Tutoring Program was created for students who are within underrepresented communities (BIPOC, low-income, LGBTQIA+) to access academic tutoring outside of regular classroom hours.
To support these students best, we are looking for volunteer tutors who are willing to work with students on academic subjects, are responsible, and are interested in serving their community. Added benefits would include proficiency in a second language such as Hmong, Spanish, Somali, or other. We are currently servicing three schools, Early College Academy, Brooklyn Center High, and Cooper High School (Robbinsdale), during this school year.

Youth OnBoard
Youth OnBoard (YOB) is an afterschool leadership team that meets once a week engaging in dynamic and fun workshops on leadership skills and themes. The goal of YOB is to prepare young people to engage in decision making processes in the community and advocate for their generation, creating higher collaboration between youth and adults.
As the Coordinator of YOB I will be developing connections with committees, councils and boards around the area, working with them to allow the students to join their processes and improve the way they make decisions; elevating young people to become self-advocates and impact policies.
