The City of Brooklyn Park announces Tim Gladhill as new Community Development Director
BROOKLYN PARK, MN -- Following the August 19 Council meeting, the City of Brooklyn Park City Council announced the appointment of Tim Gladhill as Community Development Director. Citing Tim’s experience and strong commitment to community, Mayor Hollies Winston praised the appointment. "With the establishment of the Brooklyn Park BioTech Innovation District, the Northwest Area planning project, and expected green light for Blue Line Light Rail extension project, we have great economic development opportunities in the city. Tim's extensive experience and strategic thinking are exactly what we need to capitalize on the development and redevelopment opportunities we have on the horizon."
City Manager Jay Stroebel similarly expressed enthusiasm, saying, “Tim’s commitment to equity aligns perfectly with our City’s values and goals. With Tim at the helm, we are confident that Brooklyn Park is headed towards a brighter future.”
Tim Gladhill joins the City of Brooklyn Park from the City of Stillwater, where he served as the Community Development Director. In Stillwater, Tim focused on economic development policy and provided support for long-range planning, building safety inspections, and code enforcement and neighborhood health. His extensive career also includes nearly 20 years with the City of Ramsey, where he began as a Public Works Maintenance Worker and advanced to the role of Deputy City Administrator and Community Development Director.
In addition to his municipal roles, Tim is an active member of the American Planning Association, serving on its Board of Directors. He also dedicated nearly a decade to the Minnesota Chapter of the American Planning Association, including two terms as Chapter President.
Tim expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “I am excited to join such a welcoming and innovative community and look forward to bringing my experience and advocacy to help Brooklyn Park achieve our community and economic development goals.”
The City of Brooklyn Park is excited to welcome Mr. Gladhill and looks forward to the positive impact his leadership will bring to the community.
